Baile Icín House

Set within the dramatic landscape of the Dingle Peninsula, this contemporary replacement dwelling is carefully positioned into the hillside, with its principal living spaces orientated to capture panoramic views towards the Blasket Islands.

Inspired by the traditional rural architecture of Corca Dhuibhne, the design comprises a series of simple, narrow gabled forms that break down the overall scale of the building and allow it to sit naturally within the landscape.

Natural stone, a limestone plinth and contrasting dark finishes create a restrained architectural palette, combining contemporary detailing with traditional materials. The result is a distinctive modern home that responds sensitively to its exposed coastal setting while making the most of its exceptional views.
