An established family hotel is West Cork sought to build an extension to include a relaxation spa and additional luxury bedrooms. Our design is generated by a sense of restraint so that the spa feels very enclosed and sheltered at the lower ground level to heighten the sense of calm. Light permeates the reception space and relaxation pool through rooflights and northern windows at high level giving a consistent relaxing light.
A vertical journey through the building leads the guest to the roof top level which gives striking views of the Atlantic Ocean and offers an outdoor space to retreat to following their treatment. On intermediate levels each suite benefits from recessed outdoor spaces that give shelter from the elements and uninterrupted views of the sea.
